BEC Limited (BEC), formerly known as Belize Estate Company Limited was incorporated in 1875 in the United Kingdom under the name Belize Estate & Produce Co. Ltd. It was ex-patriate owned until March of 1983, when it was acquired by the Bowen Group under the leadership of the late Sir Barry M. Bowen. To date, BEC is still owned and operated by the Bowen Group under the CEO, Sir Michael H.M. Bowen.
